The Original Adjustable Door Hinge quickly and easily fixes sticking, rubbing or non-opening doors. Whether the door sticks on the top, bottom or sides. The Original Adjustable Door Hinge allows you to adjust your door up or down 1/4 of an inch and side to side , 1/4 of an inch. Most sticking door adjustments fall in these ranges. You will never need to take the door totally off the frame and cut it, plane it, sand it, repaint it and rehang it. The Original Adjustable Door Hinge can be installed in under 30 minutes for most interior 2 Hinge Doors and 45 minutes for most exterior 3 Hinge Doors. Please click on the picture above to familiarize yourself with how the hinge works. Pay close attention to the Frame side plate with three knuckles and the door side plate with 2 knuckles.

Replacing your hinges with The Original Adjustable Door Hinge

Open the door to have access to the screws of your existing hinges.
Add a support under the front of the door bottom or have someone hold the door.
Remove the old screws to both sides of your existing hinges starting at the top.
Replace each hinge with The Original Adjustable Door Hinge.
The removable Acorn nut for The Original Adjustable Door Hinge should always be on the bottom.
Repeat for all other hinges.

Whether the door has two or more hinges, all the standard hinges on a door must be replaced with The Original Adjustable Door Hinges to allow the door to move.

If you need to turn the hinge over for a left or right opening door, just unthread the bolt out of the hinge and turn your hinge over and rethread the bolt back in.
The frame side plate is the plate with 3 knuckles and the door side plate is the plate with two knuckles that are covered by sleeves.

To Raise the Door

Loosen or remove the bottom acorn nut on all of your Original Adjustable Door Hinges
Starting at the top hinge, turn the center bolt clockwise and the door will begin to rise.
Once the door is in the desired position, look at the other hinges, the center bolt will have risen out of the hinge. Turn the bolt so that it re-seats against the hinge plates.
Replace the bottom acorn nut .
If all you are doing is raising the door,  tighten the bottom acorn nut hand tight and then 1/4 turn past hand tight with a pair of pliers.
If you are also moving the door side to side, do not replace the bottom acorn nut yet.

To Lower the Door

Loosen or remove the bottom acorn nut on all of your Original Adjustable Door Hinges.
Starting at the bottom hinge and then the middle hinge, turn the bolt counter clockwise out of the plates about 6 or 7 full turns.
At the top hinge, turn the center bolt counter clockwise, with a pair of pliers and the door will begin to lower.
If the door does not lower enough, look at the middle and lower hinge and make sure the bolt head has not seated against the hinge plate. You may need to turn it up again to allow for downward movement.
Once the door is in position, reseat the middle and bottom bolt heads against the hinge plate
Replace the bottom acorn nut.
If all you are doing is lowering the door, tighten the bottom acorn nut hand tight and then 1/4 turn past hand tight with a pair of pliers.

Side to Side Adjustment

With the bottom acorn nuts loose, shim the door where you need it by putting a folded piece of paper or flat head screwdriver between the door and the frame. Make sure you have a small gap.
Now hand tighten the bottom acorn nut and using a pair of pliers tighten the bottom acorn nut 1/4 - 1/2 turn past hand tight.
If your door is not catching the striker, put your folded piece of paper or screwdriver on the hinge side between the door and the frame, pushing the door closer to the striker plate.
Then hand tighten the bottom acorn nut and using a pair of pliers tighten the bottom acorn nut 1/4 - 1/2 turn past hand tight.
